What I Like About You

Ok, I am starting a new weekly Blog series on StopCheesing. It is going to be called "What I Like About You" I am going to start with Dad and write one or two things that I love about him. Everyone else is welcome to add to the list, via comments, or whatever. Ok? Let's go.

What I Like About You: Dad

1. Frequently when Dad comes to visit me at my house he will also bring a little treat, just for me, like a giant roll of smarties or a package of cookies. I love that.

2. I love that Dad is so talented at art/music stuff (and he doesn't even act like it). Whenever I have a question or need some help with some sort of music project with my church calling, he always helps. I love to see the look on people's faces when I say, "well we could just write a quick modulation" or "let's just transpose it to a lower key". They all look at me like "Can we do that?" I don't know anyone that has the kind of resource that I do.

3. I love that Dad goo's and gaa's over my child. I know he does this with all of his grandchildren. But there is something so fun about hearing that your child is so "handsome, smart, and fun" He makes you feel like you are the greatest Mom in the world.

4. I love that Dad cries when he listens to beautiful music. I think that growing up seeing him do that has taught me to appreciate the power in simple and beautiful melodies. It's funny, I was at a Viola concert several months ago and, all of the sudden, I started crying. I was incredulous, but...the music was just so gorgeous I couldn't help it. Dad has taught me how to be moved by beauty in life.

I love Dad's daily e-mails and how in each one he tells me that he is so proud of me.

I love also how in each e-mail he tells me how much he loves Mom.

I cry at music too!
My heavens, what has he done to us?! ;)

I love that dad calls just because he was thinking about me.
